Rooted: The Wisdom of Nature :Through Life's Ever-Changing Seasons.

This is my first blog, which has been stirring in me for SO long. A homage I decided to my daily walks in nature, which have allowed me to heal and write. Let me briefly explain.

Over the last decade, I experienced significant losses: both of my parents, my brother, and my sister-in-law. At that time, I was responsible for running the women's centre I had founded in 2014. In 2022, I stepped down from that role and moved approximately 300 miles away to the valleys of Southwest Wales. It was then that my true grieving process began. While I had mourned during those earlier times, I had not fully confronted my grief.

Many say loss and grief never change; it’s the life around it that gains more colour and substance. That kind of sums it up for me. While walking along my daily route, I have had the chance to observe the natural world and its changes throughout the seasons. Likewise, I am navigating my own journey and entering a new season of life as I approach my 60th birthday.

It isn’t just the earth and green world that caught my attention; the sky, the energy, the light, and so much more did as well.

Then, I started writing more daily journals and nature poetry, specifically quatrains, verses with four lines. I also began writing longer ‘well-being ‘poems and prose, and I completed my MA in Creative Writing and Wellbeing. I began hosting my Women’s Writing for Well-being Circle and most recently launched ‘The Nurturing Letter Club’.

A Summer Reflection.

This is my new blog, "Nurtured by Nature." It will combine my passions and follow the changing seasons as nature does—nature writing that is good for your well-being.

I would like to conclude with a beautiful thought: truthfully, we are part of nature. Almost all the elements in our bodies originated from a star; we are not separate from nature—we are nature. Take a moment to reflect on that.

Join me in building nature-inspired rituals, wisdom, and self-care for every day of the year.

Always

Julie
